Daredevil Mode is the name of difficulty hacks for Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 that force you to beat the game under Daredevil conditions. They can be played legally on any homebrew-enabled Wii or Wii U console. No backup images or hardware modifications are required.
Lumalee Shops, checkpoints and in-game guides have been removed to add to the challenge! Every existing Daredevil Comet has been replaced with a Speedy Comet with tight timers. Unlike Daredevil Comets, however, coins still appear throughout levels since you need them to pay Hungry Lumas in SMG2. Coins cannot be used to restore health. Furthermore, Life-Up Mushrooms have been replaced with 1-Up Mushrooms to decrease frustration caused by game overs.
In order to play this mod on real hardware, you need a Wii or Wii U console, a Super Mario Galaxy or Super Mario Galaxy 2 game disk, the Homebrew Channel with Riivolution v1.06 installed on your console and an SD card.
If you want to play the game on newer Dolphin versions, simply extract the files somewhere, right click the respective game in Dolphin and select Start with Riivolution Patches. From here, simply select the folder that contains the extracted folders and enable the patch.
