Nintendogs Deluxe

Nintendogs Deluxe is an unofficial patch for all first-generation Nintendogs games. It was created as a self-imposed challenge to develop a small mod within only seven days. It can be played on any homebrew-enabled DS or 3DS console. Full setup information can be found below. This page also contains full references for unlockables, gift items and shop items.

Changes

The mod provides an enhanced yet faithful way to replay the original Nintendogs by creating a single game that includes the content from all versions such that no external needs are necessary to complete the entire game.

The cut Afro Wig accessory has been fully restored.
All version-exclusive items are now available within a single game.
The event-exclusive Pair of Star Sunglasses may be found during walks.
The trainer point restriction for finding specific items has been removed.
Some items are now only available in shops.
All cover breeds from the original games are available at the start.
The unlocking criteria for all breeds and interior styles have been changed.
A completely new title screen has been created.
Updated and modernized all localizations.

Download Nintendogs Deluxe

First, make sure you have a ROM file of any first-generation Nintendogs game. All you have to do is apply the correct VCDIFF file to the ROM file of the desired game using the XDelta patcher. The table below shows which patch file you'll have to use.

Gift Items

For Deluxe, the item generation rates for gift boxes were adjusted such that all items are now available in a single game. Some items are no longer found in gift boxes to make room for the newly available items. The game selects from different item pools depending on whether the gift box was found on a walk or by a runaway dog that returned home. In the tables below, the number of stars indicate an item's rarity. One star indicates a common item whereas three stars indicate a very rare item.
