Animal Crossing: City Folk Deluxe

Animal Crossing: City Folk Deluxe is an unofficial enhancement patch for Animal Crossing: City Folk / Let's Go to the City that introduces new content and gameplay changes. It can be played on any homebrew-enabled Wii or Wii U via Riivolution; no backup images or hardware mods needed. Online play is mostly supported thanks to the services of Wiimmfi and WiiLink.

Added content

  • 244 villagers from other games return! A complete list is given below.
  • All 94 official distributed items are obtainable, including unreleased ones.
  • Over 35 completely original items have been created and added.
  • More than 40 unused items have been fully restored and made functional.
  • All seasonal events and holidays are now accessible regardless of region.
  • New and exclusive rewards for completionists have been added.
  • Bottle mail has been implemented, occasionally appearing along the shoreline.
  • Treasure hunts from Population Growing have been reintroduced.
  • Additional bulletin messages provide a livelier gameplay experience.
  • Forgeries are now visually distinct from their genuine counterparts.

Gameplay enhancements

  • The in-game calendar now extends through the year 2099.
  • Online functionality is restored via Wiimmfi and WiiLink services.
  • Players can now select their skin tone during character creation.
  • The sun tanning feature has been disabled for consistency.
  • More items can be repurchased from the catalog now.
  • Numerous item prices have been rebalanced.
  • Paintings now appear in the player's catalog after acquisition.
  • Various other item properties have been updated to ensure consistency.
  • Fossils are now automatically identified once the player has registered every fossil in their catalog.
  • Uncatalogued items are now guaranteed to appear in balloons and as gifts from special characters.
  • Most item distribution pools have been significantly adjusted.
  • K.K. songs and sometimes fruit are now sold at Tom Nook's store.
  • The Able Sisters now offer a broader selection of purchasable items.
  • Silver tools now have a 5% chance of appearing in Nook's store.
  • Gracie's discount bonus has been raised to 20%.
  • Haircuts for the opposite gender become available after receiving five haircuts.
  • Gardening villagers now decorate their homes with various flowers.
  • Villagers with the fossil hobby may now host occasional treasure hunts.
  • Special visitors are more likely to visit the town.
  • Gulliver will always appear when scheduled, removing obnoxious random factors.
  • Phineas now visits the City more often, no longer relying on pure randomness.
  • Wendell now offers the previously unused cookie pattern in exchange for an anniversary cake.
  • Balloon appearance rate has been increased to 25%.
  • The rate of flower hybridization has been raised to 15%.
  • Two additional fossils are now generated each day.
  • Save files can now be freely moved and copied between the console and an SD card.
  • Save data graphics and text have been modernized.
  • All localizations have been updated and enhanced for consistency.

Quality of life changes

  • Fast text speed is now enforced across all scenarios for a smoother experience.
  • Items are no longer picked up while running with the Z button held.
  • Mr. Resetti's appearance can now be toggled based on player preference.
  • Grass deterioration and regeneration mechanics can be enabled or disabled.
  • Flower parching can be turned off to maintain gardens without regular watering.
  • Wilted flowers no longer disappear if left unwatered.
  • Alphabetical sorting has been added to the item catalog and can be toggled.
  • The default categorical item order has been restructured for improved clarity.
  • Fish and insects can now be stored in drawers and dropped from the inventory.
  • Red turnip seeds will remain available regardless of time-travelling.
  • Items already donated to the museum are now excluded from donation selection.
  • Brewster now ignores gyroids already in his collection, skipping the selection screen.
  • Unread letters can now be discarded without needing to open them first.

Villagers

Deluxe significantly expands the villager roster, introducing 244 new villagers. Please note that due to technical limitations, some villagers won't be returning.
